Walworth Society – Latest News inc Walworth Times & AGM

1. Walworth Times. We are really grateful to so many people for a fabulous evening at the Coronet Theatre last Tuesday which was enjoyed by an audience of more than 200 local people. The evening was a fantastic telling of the history of Walworth animated by The People’s Company and Imagine That and directed by John Whelan. A big thank you to the Coronet Theatre for hosting the evening so generously. There was dancing from Carnaval del Pueblo and drumming from Uncle Aug and a game show that was won by the WS Vice-Chair Norma Lawrence!

There was an exhibition of the superb model of the Walworth Road and its history which had been created by the children of St Joseph’s School with help from Harriet Hill and Jerry Flynn.

The whole event was sponsored by the Southwark Council Neighbourhoods Fund and we were delighted to welcome Neil Coyle MP.

As soon as it is ready we will send out a short film of the evening.
