Walworth Society AGM 2017 & Other News

1. Walworth Society Monthly Meeting & AGM – Thursday 2nd March 7pm. Please find below the notes from our meeting on 2nd March which was also our AGM. Our next meeting is 7pm Thursday 6th April - Venue TBC. There will be opportunity to discuss the Bakerloo Line extension at the next WS meeting as a TfL representative is coming to discuss questions that people have about the Bakerloo Line extension and how it will impact on the Walworth area.

All of the comments that the WS submitted in relation to the E&C Shopping Centre Planning Application (16/AP/4458) appear in the file below.

2. Walworth Society AGM 2017 - Reports.

3. WS Committee Meeting Minutes (Meeting Weds 22nd February) includes agreement of the 2016/17 accounts and AGM reports.

 

3. Community Growing in Walworth.

A special meeting, March 23, 2017 at 6pm - 8pm, to discuss interest in community growing and how it can be supported across the Walworth area. The meeting is organised by the Walworth Community Action Network and will be held at the Pullens Centre, Crampton St, SE17 3LH.

It is likely that Southwark Council will soon submit both as planning applications.

 

 

Walworth Society - Latest News and February Meeting

1. Walworth Society Monthly Meeting – Thursday 2nd February 7pm. Minutes of our February 2nd meeting below. Our next meeting is on March 2nd and will also be our AGM.

2. New Southwark Plan - Area Visions and Site Allocations.

The next stage of the New Southwark Plan - the area visions and proposed site allocations - has just been published. One of the Southwark Council Planning Policy team will be coming to a future WS meeting to discuss the issues as they affect the Walworth area but if you would like to look at the document it can be downloaded from:

3. Manor Place Terrace & Braganza St Workshop - Consultation Event.

The final consultation event ahead of a planning application being submitted for the Manor Place Terrace and the Braganza St Workshop sites is being held at the Penrose TRA Hall, Penrose Grove SE17 3EA on Thursday 23rd February from 5.30pm to
7pm.

Thanks to Ian Redding of Community Southwark for telling us about this film - mostly about Camberwell but images of the developing Burgess Park and the Surrey Canal as was.
