2. We Walworth Neighbourhood Welcome, Wednesday November 30th

A message from We Walworth

‘We’ve been starting conversations in Walworth about food and inequality as a neighbourhood. It’s never been more important; the cost-of-living crisis is hitting everyone. Too many of us can no longer afford the odd meal out or take away while others are struggling to put food on the table at home.

Meanwhile local traders, shops, cafes and other food businesses are facing rising costs, they have families to feed and wages to pay and they’re struggling to keep prices down and some are facing going out of business.

These are massive challenges that none of us can solve alone. We need to find a different way, there is a huge power unleashed when we come together and bring our collective tools. We’re going to start by having a conversation: please join us on Wednesday, November 30th 10:00  to 14.00, Walworth Living Room• All Saints Hall, Surrey Square, Walworth, SE17 2JU

You’ll be able to access engagement training and together we’ll go out and speak to our neighbours. Together we’ll explore and learn about:

  • Techniques to engage with people we don’t yet know
  • Identifying great ideas and leaders in our community
  • Why do we want to organise around connections and networks
  • Find out more about the project.

We’re asking for a few hours of your time for food, to meet new partners and to begin to engage with our neighbourhood afresh around food. The agenda will run like this: Eat together (food provided), 1 hr; Training, 1hr; Engagement; 1hr, Reflections, 1 hr. All are very welcome.
