2. St Peter’s 200th anniversary Gala Fundraising Dinner – 1st December

News of a Gala Fundraising Dinner on Friday 1st December for the St Peter’s Church 200th Building Appeal with Evan Davis from the BBC and Dragon’s Den as the guest speaker. Details below and to book go to:

3. Walworth History Diversity Tour – Sat 25th November.

A free local diversity tour, Saturday 25th November, which animates some of the communities and people who have made the Walworth area and the Aylesbury estate home. The event is brought to you by the Kaleidoscope Festival and is part of our community based projects which are highlighting local diversity through a range of performance, events and free tours. 

The tour will see actors bring to life some of the local characters including Prince Monolulu who was a tipster on East Street market and the first Black man on the BBC in 1936. The tour will also highlight stories of locals who have shared their journeys and oral histories. 

The tour runs from Walworth Square from 1pm and finishes then brings us to Pembroke House where we have a sharing element inside with free food. African dance and music and stories from the Windrush. This project is part of Kaleidoscope’s wider celebrations for Black History Month.

4. Surrey Gardens TRA & St Paul’s Church Christmas Fayre – Saturday 9th December 12noon to 4pm.

News of this year’s Surrey Gardens TRA & St Paul’s Church Christmas Fayre featuring Santa and real, live reindeer. Saturday 9th December, noon to 4pm at St Paul’s Church Lorrimore Square, SE17 3QT.
5. The Great Legal Quiz Hosted By Southwark Law Centre – Weds 29th November

A little outside the Walworth area, but on Wednesday evening, 29th November, Southwark Law Centre is hosting a quiz compared by Walworth’s own Steve Lancashire at the Gowlett Arms in Peckham, 62 Gowlett Road, SE15 4HY. Teams of up to 6 people with an entry price of £5 per person.
6. Christmas Wonderland at St Peter’s Church – Thurs 7th Dec 1pm to 6.30pm.

Christmas market, carol singing, street food and much more at St Peter’s Christmas Wonderland, 7th December, 1pm to 6.30pm, at St Peter Church, Liverpool Grove, SE17 2HH.
