1. Walworth Society Meeting – Wednesday 11th September at 7pm – in person at The Main Hall, The Crypt, St Peter’s Church SE17 2HH and online.
A reminder that our next WS meeting is a special meeting that will focus on the future of the Walworth Road as a high street. This comes in the light of the closure of M&S, recent planning applications and concerns about the impact of developments at the E&C on the Walworth Road.
The meeting is being held in the crypt at St Peter’s Church (many thanks to Father Andrew) and will include:
1. An introduction to the meeting from Cllr John Batteson Southwark Council Cabinet Member for Climate Emergency, Jobs and Business.
2. A presentation by a Southwark Council Officer on proposals for the Walworth Road and in particular the role of Town Centre Action Plans which Southwark are planning to introduce in their principal Town Centres.
3. Contributions from the floor about the issues that they feel that the Walworth Road faces currently and potential solutions.
From this we hope to discuss and agree steps forward with Southwark Council.
Do come along if you are free – everyone (including and especially non-members) are very welcome. The online link for the meeting will follow closer to the time.
