3. Re-imagining the Bricklayers Arms – share your thoughts.

Info from Sanaa Shaikh of NATIVE STUDIO who are working with Southwark Council.

“Southwark Council is looking to build upon the emerging Old Kent Road Area Action plan, with a focus on the development of the area encompassing the Bricklayers Arms roundabout and its surrounding areas (referred to as OKR1 in the AAP).

Through a series of public engagement events and working with a range of designers and consultants, ideas and proposals will emerge to shape place-making principles and an ambition for the area that will align with the needs and desires of residents, businesses and visitors.

We will be exploring the potential to reconfigure and improve the transport network, create more land for housing and repair a historic stretch of high streets to stitch the site back into its surrounding neighbourhoods, focussing on creating high quality public realm, improving accessibility, movement and green space.

We invite you to share your thoughts on this survey which may be accessed on this link.”

As well as this please note that the Old Kent Road Area Action Plan is going to Cabinet next week
