2. Walworth Stories at the Africa Day.

We are excited to be putting our display and activity stall together for the Kaleidoscope festival on Saturday 11th September (see 3 below). We’re really looking forward to being part of this event on and celebrating the contributions of African and Caribbean people, past and present, to the area. Do come along and see us!


3. Africa Day Saturday 11th Sept St Peter’s Church.

Don’t forget Africa Day (St Peter’s Church grounds) on the 11 Sep 12-5pm as part of the Kaleidoscope Festival, a festival to celebrate our rich and diverse community in Walworth.

Events include: Community stalls with Bric-A-Brac and a tombola. African music, dance, and acrobats. Live on a stage. Free activities for children. Foods of the Caribbean and Africa. Performance from 2 Inspire, and the Elephant and Castle Community Hub. Face Painting. Arts workshops and talks about the local heritage. DJ-World Music. Model Railway. 4. Neighbourhood Gathering – 1pm to 4pm Sunday 19th September – Tatum Street

News from Pembroke House.

We have now delivered our last food parcel from the Walworth Community Food Hub. Together, we’ve delivered 340 tonnes of food in more than 40,000 parcels to neighbours across Walworth.  To mark the incredible achievements of the past 18 months – and take the next step in building a longer-term legacy – we’re going to host a Neighbourhood Gathering on Tatum Street – Sunday September 19, 1-4pm. 5. Natty Bo & The Top Cats Live At St Peter’s Church.

Friday 1st October 7-11pm

A message from Louie Louie: Altar Native returns for a third series at St Peter’s Church, Walworth! Rewind… We kick things off with internationally acclaimed nine-piece authentic Jamaican Ska outfit NATTY BO & THE TOP CATS + bossa beats from FOREST LAW.

This concert is the first in the third series of Altar Native, in the stunning surroundings of the Sir John Soane designed Grade 1 listed St Peter’s Church, Walworth. With a bar + food stall inside the church featuring draft beer c/o local brewers Orbit and Nepalese food prepared by Louie Louie, join us early and make a whole evening of it!

9.  Walworth Community Gardening Network

Upcoming events from the WCGN:

Friday 11th and Saturday 12th September Pullens Virtual Tour Filming dates: Selected gardens will be filmed in discussion and exploration of their spaces to be used in a virtual tour. This project is happening in partnership with the Walworth Society and Pullens TRA. Ali Yellop is organising the filming and we will see the results later in the year.

Thursday 16th September 6.30pm – place tbc – WCGN Get Together 
Catch up, and chance to discuss future activities and funding

Saturday 18th September 10.30am or 12pm Walworth Garden Tours: Enjoy a guided tour of Walworth Garden with other members of WCGN two booking times. Join the WCGN team and Walworth Garden staff for an exploration of our award-winning biodiverse garden filled with wildlife-friendly and unusual planting. Sunday 19th September 1-3 pm WCGN Produce Show 2021 – Neighbourhood Gathering on Tatum Street: Come to meet neighbours and celebrate the resilience and solidarity of our community. We will share food, music and activities for the whole family. Be a part of the WCGN Produce Show by submitting either a photo of something you have grown or something from your garden. Entries submitted on the day by 1.30 pm with prizes given at 3 pm

Sunday 11th October Camberwell Community Gardens History walk: 
In development is a walk around the SE5 area looking at the community growing spaces and history behind the area.
